Paulette is a Hartford native who proudly graduated from Springfield College with its highest honors of Summa Cum Laude. She has a bachelor’s and a Master’s of Science degree in Human Services with a concentration in Organizational Management and Leadership. Ms. Williams completed 25 years of service with the State of Connecticut Department of Correction. She held various positions in custody and treatment before retiring in 2017 as a Counselor Supervisor. Offender rehabilitation and community reintegration are something she is passionate about due to her extensive work with this population.

Paulette has also served as a youth worker for displaced, at-risk teenagers and a program manager at a group home for women with severe mental and cognitive complexities. Her experiences include one-to-one counseling, group therapy facilitation, supervision, crisis intervention, peer support, and client advocacy. Paulette strongly believes that her wisdom is more based on life’s experiences, including personal and professional relationships, and that her advanced educational degrees provide the glue that holds it all together.

What can a client expect from you as a therapist?

A nonjudgmental approach and empathic style that provides a comfortable and calming therapeutic environment. An eclectic approach that includes psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral techniques with an emphasis on how one can successfully navigate life's challenges while using their support system, community resources, mindfulness, and newly acquired skills to live the life they envision for themselves.

If you weren't a therapist, what profession would you choose?

I would be a police officer serving my community.
