Joseph Montalvo is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate who earned his master’s degree at Central Connecticut State University. He is a bilingual Spanish-speaking therapist.

Joseph works with a wide range of clients including children, teenagers, adults, families, and couples who are facing issues such as anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, family conflict, loss, and trauma. Joseph has multiple years of experience working with the unique challenges of foster, adoptive, and kinship families. He has facilitated court-mandated groups for youth and adults affected by domestic violence. Joseph has vast experience supporting professional and collegiate athletes and the issues they face. He currently facilitates groups ranging from parenting, fatherhood, and infertility. He is particularly interested in working with the cultural and multigenerational patterns of families.

Joseph has advanced training in the areas of trauma and attachment. He has a person-centered approach to creating a safe and connected therapeutic relationship with his clients. Joseph aims to address the psychological, biological, and spiritual needs of each individual with care and authenticity. Joseph uses multiple therapeutic modalities that best align with his client’s strengths.
