My name is Erica Winful and It is a great honor to be afforded the opportunity to be apart of a clinical team comprised of such highly gifted therapists. I obtained my doctorate in clinical psychology with a specialization in children and adolescents from University of Hartford. I completed my pre and post-doctoral internship at Yale School of Medicine.  Additionally, I have obtained my certification in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from University of Minnesota.  I have a strong passion for working with  diverse youth and their families. I have approximately 20 years of clinical experience working in a multitude of settings to include schools, outpatient clinics, in-home services, in-patient units, etc. My approach is to work with the collective unit(family, church, community individuals, etc.)  involved with the identified client to assist in learning techniques to adaptively cope with life stressors and live a better quality of life successfully.

The specializations I offer are comprehensive psychological evaluations and clinically I work from many frameworks to include CBT, DBT, and family therapy.  I enjoy working with youth and their families and young adults.

What can a client expect from you as a therapist?

One could expect a non-judgmental and culturally competent therapist who is there to listen, empower,  and together problem solve ones difficulties and acquire the tools to improve the quality of life.  I believe it takes a village and want to increase ones support circle by collaborating with any identified adult that is present in their life. I am empathetic and supportive, yet ready to hold one accountable to do the clinical  work.

If you weren't a therapist, what profession would you choose?

If I weren’t a therapist I would be legal advocate as I like to fight for the rights of others or a motivational speaker.
