Shahid received his Bachelor of Human Service degree from Springfield College School of Human Services and Social Work and his Master of Clinical Social Work degree from the University of Saint Joseph. Shahid has over 15 years of healthcare administration and public relations leadership, working in hospitals, clinics and skilled nursing facilities. He has experience with trauma and domestic violence group (IPV) therapy, identifying treatment strategies for racial battle fatigue and working with families and young people.
Shahid is skilled with understanding the impact of intergenerational or ancestral trauma and how racial trauma can cause psychological wounds that potentially get passed down from generation to generation. Shahid believes when communities of color learn more about their identity, self-esteem and confidence can grow.
Shahid is committed to helping individuals and families change their narrative by embracing the healing process through building trust and working together to transform pain into progress and purpose.
