Who We Are
Brittany Cooper is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her masters in social worker from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work.
Brittany Cooper is the founder of Power of Choices, LLC. She specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents, young adults, and families from various racial, ethnic and gender backgrounds addressing social, emotional and behavioral health needs. She has experience working in a variety of settings including intensive in-home services, schools, and in college settings.
Abigail Collins is a Spanish Speaking Licensed Masters Level Social Worker, LMSW who received her Masters in Social Work from Springfield College, May 2017. Abigail also has a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Connecticut.
Abigail has been trained in numerous approaches to help her clients succeed and get to the next chapter in their lives. Abigail uses the following approaches; Motivational Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Play Therapy, and Psychoeducation. Her experience includes working with clients dealing with homelessness, food insecurity, divorce, single parenting, divorce, and women’s issues. Having previously worked with children and families facing these issues, Abigail believes that she is uniquely qualified to assist clients facing these challenges and possibly others not mentioned.
Cecily Pacheco has recently received her Master of Social Work from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work, May 2018. Cecily obtained a Bachelors of Arts in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Connecticut in 2012 and has been working in the field since.
Cecily has worked alongside Brittany for several years and has experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and parents addressing social, emotional, and behavioral health needs. She has had the opportunity to work and intern in multiple settings, encompassing schools, intensive in-home services and intensive case management services for DCF involved parents.
Erica is a Masters level social worker with expertise in counseling who received a Masters Degree in Human Services with clinical counseling from Post University in Waterbury, CT. Erica also has a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT. Erica has been trained in various counseling techniques, intensive case management, diversity and cultural competence and is a Certified Career Counselor.
Erica has experience working with a range of clients, which include homeless, elderly, teenagers, adults, ex-offenders and those with developmental and physical disabilities. She has provided career counseling, job training, education assistance, problem solving techniques, basic needs such as food, clothing, transportation and shelter and is am able to engage those in need of community support.
Erica understands the economic, emotional, medical, psychological and social factors that surround our community and has knowledge of community resources that are available to individuals and families. She is able to assist clients in sustaining and restoring their personal functioning in order to meet their goals.
Anjali Quinones, is a Licensed Masters Social Worker, LMSW, currently providing supportive services as a school social worker in Hartford, CT. Anjali obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Connecticut with a concentration in Group Work. Anjali has experience working with high-risk children and youth receiving specialized education services. In addition to being identified as special education, these students present with environmental and systematic barriers that can potentially hinder their academic progress including instabilities in the home, family dysfunction, criminal involvement, and poor social supports. Anjali has also worked in non- profit-based agencies in the Hartford area helping children increase his/her involvement by engaging in prosocial activities that promote community safety, build on leadership skills and encourage positive self-awareness. Anjali is a long-time resident of Hartford, CT and is familiar with local resources and the needs of our population.
Anjali has completed and facilitated Mindfulness training and Life Space Crisis Intervention (LSCI) which she incorporates in her experience in managing crisis situations. Anjali provides individual and group sessions focusing on addressing anxiety, enhancing social skills, managing academic frustration and other school related stressors, trauma and adjustment issues. She has continually been part of Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings to advocate and provide needed social work services.
In her spare time, Anjali enjoys travelling and has recently completed a 7-day cruise to Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and St. Maarten. She’s visited Paris, Rome, Canada and is looking forward to visiting all 50 states!
Dazjavia is a recent graduate from Southern Connecticut State University where she obtained her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in May 2018. Dazjavia also has her Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Mitchell College in New London, CT. Dazjavia is an Army Reservist that has experience in military trauma, family dynamic, resiliency and wants to continue to educate and work with this population.
Dazjavia has training working with adolescents and adults that have behavioral health needs. She has worked with adolescents to help them overcome barriers such as abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, family dysfunction, social and economic constraints, bullying and suicidal idealization. Dazjavia has facilitated groups focused on Multi-functional therapy, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, and psychotherapy. Dazjavia understands social and economical challenges that may hinder a persons development and ability to function effectively.
Dazjavia has experience working with a vast population and has had the opportunity to intern in multiple setting such as in a hospital, Outpatient services and military services.
